Default getting new tires (255s)

Hi guys,

Im putting on new 255 tires to replace stock 245 yokohamas. is it recommended to also get the car lowered? will it look weird not lowering it?

255 is too wide for the stock wheels, IMO.

I don't think 255 + 8" wide wheel is dangerous (I've seen worse OEM combo).

Lowering or not is your call to make. It's purely personal prefrence. If you ask members in this forum I believe most answers will be yes.

Really, the question of lowering it and getting these tires have nothing to do with one another.

lol I think it does...have you seen these 255s? they aren't small tires. im afraid putting them on will either 1) elevate my car higher therefore impacting cornering ability and 2) show too much gap.

from 245/40 to 255/40, the profile increased by 4mm. that means your car will be less than 1/4" higher from the ground. and the larger profile will help eliminate 4mm of wheel gap as well

so the lowering part has nothing to do with the tire change at all
