Default 08 AWD with 20" Vossens - Pics with both NF210 & DF210

I see many posts asking the question which springs to go with so I thought I'd share with everyone my last 12 months. My first drop was on Tanabe NF210 and while I was very happy with the drop I always wanted a little more. So I decided to try out the DF210........and I am so glad I did! The drop is exactly what I was hoping and I am very happy with it.

Yes, I have vibrations just like every other AWD owner, but it's something I have come to live with. The vibrations for both springs are the same, one was not worse than the other.

I had the fenders shaved when I had the NF210 on. Running over spec tires contributed to this. Huge thanks to Gytis (Gytis123) for shaving the fenders and installing the DF210. His work is superb and I recommend him for anyone in the Chicago area (I drive 6 hours one way to have the work done - - he's that good).

Onto the specs and various pics with DF210 vs. NF210....................

Looks good! Thanks for the NF vs DF comparison

Whats the offset of the 10.5" rim? How much did you have to shave off the rear fender?

DF210's FTW!! NF is for those who just want a slight drop but the DF has the lowest drop on the market without having to go coilovers or bags.

I put the same springs on my car and was super happy with the results

Very nice I am most likely going to be picking up a GS350 within the next two weeks. I must have been under a misunderstanding that with AWD, and a drop that you could not go with staggered fitments. I am looking to purchase the Vossen Concave wheels, and would like to go with the AWD version, but limited my choices to RWD for this very reason. I also notice that in both pics (DF210/NF210) your car seems to be fairly level. Again, I was under the misunderstanding that the front end would be higher no matter what. Am I missing something? Btw, how is the ride quality on the DF's? Thanks

In my opinion, the ride quality is basically the same as the NF's. I couldn't tell a difference in ride quality, but it felt like the DF's made the car handle a little better. Crappy roads are crappy roads, so you're going to feel things no matter what suspension you're on - - stock or otherwise.

The car does sit slightly higher in the front, but it's only noticeable if you actually stare and compare a few times.

Ride quality, the least of your worries. It is a stiffer ride, but does not compromise ride comfort.

Car is NOT level.
I have 3 finder gap in front, and NONE in the rear. Meaning top of the stock tire (225/50/17) is nearly flush with the wheel well. I will add pics later once I upload to Photobucket. I was asked if Im having issues with headlights. I have self-leveling so I will have to test that as well.

Viebrations: Severe then stopped in Drive, goes away in neutral/park. It can be felt in the rear seat and floors. Definitely a noussance.
Other posts have mentioned a vibration at 15mph. That is more of a studder type of sensation during normal acceleration. It does not occur at rapid acceleration.

The more I read about these springs the more I tell myself I don't need coil overs. The df's will do just find. The stance looks pretty good for a daily like I use mine. I'm going to assume your shocks are still feeling ok then too. And good sir, where are you at in Ohio? I'm right across the river from downtown Cincinnati.

^ look in the wheel thread and you will see your car, my old car, with DF springs and 20" rims on it. Ride is much better with coils but I hardly drove my car so it depends on what your looking for.

Go coils springs don t drop these cars evenly due to uneven weight distribution coils can correct this and you can 4 corner balance the car to make it handle better. Coils are the best mod I have done. BCRacing are inexpensive and have one of the best designs out, the whole strut threads in and out of itself to raise and lower the car instead of compressing the spring to lower, this gives the car a better ride. Definitely worth the extra money that you will end up spending on premature shock wear caused by springs

I was the originator of this post and I have now moved onto BC Racing Coilovers. If you have the extra funds, I would highly suggest going this route.

I am originally from Cincinnati, born and raised in North Bend actually. Spent 3 years in Northwest Indiana and now find myself in Northeast Ohio, Mentor to be exact (30 minutes east of Cleveland).

Passnu2 I had a feeling my car had stuff done to it when I got it on the lift when I got home.

Swtjlsy. I might have to make a trip to come see your ride this summer if our lives allow us. I'm one busy man these days. The bc coil overs are basically what I have on my gto (pedders) and only heard nice things about them. Actually I'm buying them for my e30 vert because eibach so rings suck and the company won't deal with me now.
