Default Residual and Money Factor

Anyone know what the three year California June residual and money factor are for 10 & 12,000 miles/yr?

I did - no answer.

I have found out this morning for a 2010 GS350 RWD, the MF is 54% and residual is .0012 (2.88%) for a 12M/3yr lease. The MF is scheduled to change to 52% on June 10.

I'm not familiar with lease terminology as I always buy my cars. Of interest though is whether those setting the leases think the cars will hold their value.

So, does the change to 52% mean the Lexus is expected to hold it's value worse than previously or better?

I have to say that one of the reasons I bought the 3GS was that the 2GS had the best residual value in it's class but the 3GS seems to have screwed that up due to all the quality issues.

The residual usually drops as the model year progresses. At 52 or 54% this time of year and with a model refresh on the horizon, those are good numbers. The residual is nothing but a best-guess-good-faith number for what the expected retained value will be in three years. Anything under 50% is not good for the lessee. The Acura RL, a good car IMO, usually stars the model year at 52% and ends the model year at 46-48%. There just isn't any love for these cars.

On the subject of resale value, I was tracking a few cars when the financial collapse hit and now those same cars (ie same model year) are selling for far higher then when I looked at them.

I was very tempted at the time to pick something up and now regret not doing so!
