so after an extensive search across the forums, (and i know this issiue with smart key working with models other than the LS has been going on for a while) i still can't seem to find an answer.

my local lexus dealer here in honolulu told me that it's impossible to program a smart card with my '08 GS350. i did some digging and found out that some people have been getting their keys bought and programmed from various mainland lexus dealers (mainly sewell lexus). so i checked out sewell's site under key accessories for the '08 GS350 model and it clearly states in the bottom of the description "does not apply to hawaii models" does anyone know why?! ever since i saw my boss with the smart card for his LS, i've always wanted one!

till this day, i have yet to see a lexus bought from servco here in HI with a working key card. all of the people that i do run into here in the state with a working card all bought their cars in the mainland. if anyone can please shed some light on this or provide any useful information at all, it would be greatly appreciated! and as always, thanks in advance!

it should technically work. Same system as the other 49 states, but I'm not 100% sure. Check to see if your Smart Key fob is the same as people in the states.

There are multiple smartcards with different fcc ids. You most likely have the wrong smart card. I had this issue and Sewell did some research and found one that worked.
