Default Sorry.. Another Lighting Question.

Hey,

I have a 2006 GS300 and I've finally started modding it including the purchase of Tein CST Coilovers, and now I'm buying some new lights.

I've done tons of research and finally thought I found the right setup to go with but then I started reading about needing a "module for the parking lights if you go led and a full harness to utilize 9006 hid's for the fogs". So, I wanted to make sure I have the right choices before I hit the buy button. I

I've attached links to what I was considering, if any of you could please take a look and let me know if I need any addition equipment (i.e. harnesses, modules, etc.) I would appreciate it.

HID Low Beams: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-HID/D...-p7101151.html

Parking Lights: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p8194095.html

Fogs: http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-HID/9...-p7251151.html

P.S. Feel free to flame if you don't like my color combo lol

3 different colors? - white lows, blue parking and yellow fogs? but why?

I ordered 5k lows, 5k fogs and 5k parking lights from v-leds last week. now i feel silly

anyway, the fog light harness you are talking about is literally a relay... allows the new bulbs to draw power directly from the battery when signaled by your existing connector.

as far as a module for parking lights, i've never heard of that (unless you meant daytime running lights).

The daytime running lights module is essentially another relay, but it is triggered a bit more easily since the GS operates the 9005 bulb at about 3v (???) in DRL mode.

Yea your right... the color combo is a bit extreme, I think I'll just stick with White HID's for the Lows and Fogs along with the blue led parking lights.

In regards to the relay, is there a product that v-leds has that works? I'm an electric idiot when it comes to these things.

Why would you feel silly? lol

I wouldn't buy any relays unless it's the DRL 9005 module. the module the v-leds.com sells is great becuase it will trigger in either drl mode or high beam mode.

your fogs wouldn't need a relay unless you're having issues with false xenon ballast starts...

I'm waiting for them to ship the DRL module along with my other lights, I haven' tested it out yet. I hear mixed stories - some ppl claim it works, others claim that it causes flickering.

i'll post pics of what I get, the install, and before/after shots...

Just got them in:

I'll post more later this week if wanted.

5k D4S low beam bulbs http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/f...29246245232249
5k 9006 fog light bulbs on OEM Audi Valeo Ballasts http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/f...29246245232249
5k 9005 HIBEAM/DRL bulbs http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/f...29246245232249
5k 194 wedge bulbs for parking lights http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/f...29246245232249
9006 DRL module modified for the 9005 bulb along with relay to the battery. http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/f...29246245232249

In person, the fog light looks a bit whiter then the low beam and parking lights - I might change them out to 6k...

overall, V-LEDS.com is pretty quick with shipping, etc. The entire setup took about 5 hours... Had to remove fender liner to properly place the xenon ballasts for the fog lights...

darkness, i think you should be set with what you were originally set on buying. you wont need a relay for your fog lights - the only reason you'll need a module or relay harness is if you plan on changing your daytime running lights...

I'll post pics of the DRL - i'm most impressed with the DRL relay and bulbs! I wonder what's in the VLED DRL module - i tried creating my own but failed at it lol. I think they added a capacitor to a wide range relay (3v to 14v) for the DRL module, packaged it in a small black box and market it for $10. Not a bad price tho...

Forgive my ignorance when it comes to this lighting stuff.

The OP had listed all three bulbs. Are they all plug and play or do they need any modifications. I would be running the DRL in the stock configuration.

This:

It's significantly more expensive, but it has way more LEDs.

Thise will match, but I fear you will be abit disappointed with the light output... get something with leds that fire in all direction, so it will properly light the entire housing
