Can we get an official tint thread going like the 2IS people?
Stolen from DaveGS4:
Please list:
- % tint
- color of your interior (does make a big difference in how dark tint appears)
- type of tint if you know it (smoke, dyed, metalized, etc)
- brand of tint if you know it (3M, Solarguard, Lumaster, etc)

I have 35% tint, which is the maximum where I live. I chose a ceramic film because it is supposedly more durable and less likely to cause signal interference issues that metallic films can.
That said, I'm looking forward to the widespread availability of photochromic and electrochromic windows in cars (aka smart glass, eglass, switchable glass, etc.), which change tint based on light conditions and driver selection. That will truly be the best of both worlds.
Maybe on the 5GS.

It will be great when electrochromic windows are available as CAK500 says.
There are photochromic tints which change from 45 to 65 but they look a bit greenish.

- 40%
- black interior
- nano
- 3M Crystalline
From standing height, it looks pretty dark due to the black interior and looking "down" into it. At window height, especially looking through just one window with tint, it's plenty light. I haven't noticed any problems at all driving it at night since getting it tinted. Heat cut is significant. When left outside for an hour or so, it's hot but bearable inside. Before the tint, I used to make sure to roll the windows down with the fob and even then, the steering wheel was too hot to touch. Planning on having the front windshield done in 70 once they have it in stock.
