that's strange, your VIN is included in the recall, but i'm not? maybe i need to recheck that previous post again, because i was sure i was outside the VIN recall range....

when I say late build...I bought my 2008 on Sept 18th. Car had just been delivered to the dealer the week earlier. Build date inside the door says 6/2008.
last 8 digits of my VIN are 80021057

well that explains it. my build date is july, so fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it) the recall doesn't apply to me. whew!

Safety Recall ALE - Certain Lexus GS 350, GS 450h, GS 460, IS 350, LS 460, LS 460 L, and LS 600h L Vehicles - Valve Spring This is an important Safety Recall. Please contact your authorized Lexus dealer and schedule an appointment to replace the valve springs with the newly designed ones as soon as possible.
What is the Condition? During the manufacturing process the valve springs on certain Lexus vehicles were contaminated with a foreign material. As a result, the strength of the spring might be compromised. Over time, there is a potential for the valve spring to develop a crack and eventually break. A broken valve spring may result in abnormal engine noise, vibration, and/or power reduction. In the worst case, the engine may stall or not accelerate as quickly as anticipated, which could result in a crash.

Remember that even if your car doesn't apply for the recall if you are still under warranty and experiencing rough engine behavior there is still a TSB out for this same procedure which you can have done (such as in my case).
Just make sure you bring it somewhere that you trust because it's a big job, you don't want your car coming back to you spewing out thick exhaust smoke like mine did.

I'm not experiencing any abnormal engine behavior. Truth be told, I would prefer they not touch the inside of my engine, if at all possible. I'm just trying to determine which valve springs I have (faulty or "new & improved") Doesn't seem like anyone really knows the answer to that question. Oh well. Is the drivetrain warranty 70K or 100K miles? Although if it's a recall, whether the car is under warranty doesn't matter.

If my car(07 GS350) needs to recalled, I'd like to have everything fixed at one time instead of having to bring my car in repeatedly before my warranty expires.
I would really appreciate it if you guys can give me a list of all the problems (both major and minor). For example, carbon build up(Shudder before fully stop?), engine start-up noises (I have noticed this a couple times and am not sure if it is a recall issue or a warranty issue), the dashboard squeaking, etc. I'm having trouble following all of the threads and figuring it out. Did I miss anything other than the list I provided above? Would you also mind sharing the TSB codes?
TIA!
