what i don't understand is if 3.4 mm is good enough, why go with 3.5 mm for the recall?
and what are the pros and cons of going with 3.5 mm as opposed to 3.4 mm?
i know it shouldn't make a difference, but 3.5 mm sounds like it's 'safer', from a psychological stand point (ie: it's thicker and less likely to break and so it should be better).

It's stuff like this that they must make crystal clear in order to regain people's confidence.

or maybe you can bring the car to SA and ask him to walk around and look at the kit/wheels to make sure it's all in good condition. ask him if they are able to handle the car, and if not, they will pick up the bill?

I noticed someone posted a TSB for a steering component - what is it for?
The reason i ask is when I'm on a highway that is bending slightly to the left, I'll turn the steering wheel slightly to the left, and when the highway straightens out, I release the wheel thinking it will straight itself out - but it doesn't do it immediately! It takes a split second to do that. So when I try to straighten it out myself, I feel this slight resistance I have to overpower to get it straight again. It doesn't happen when the road bends right though, only left...
I highly doubt it's an alignment issue... the car holds straight when cruising.

I doubt it. This is a characteristic of the direct injection used in the V6. I don't think our brothers with the V8 have this noise even though we share the same springs.

Yes I don't have this issue with my V8 which does have bad springs. My car starts up in a silky way like a Lexus should.

2 separate issues:
Cold start clatter -- check out TSIB: EG020-07, had something to do with the cam gear
"Ticking" noise is inherent to ALL DI engines, BUT the valve springs replacement will quiet it down a bit...see my post-valve spring install review (post # 55 on this thread).
