First Thread- Buying a 2007 GS 350
I'm very interested in buying a 2007 GS 350, but here's a few questions:
1) What's the general consensus on this car?
I know it's a Lexus, and should be great. Some reviews complain about brake noises...how serious are those? What are some other common problems with this vehicle?
2) I have 2 options. Both cars will cost about $27,500 + taxes.
Car A) 2007 GS 350 in Starfire Pearl. It has 22,000 miles on it, ML, but no rear spoiler.
Car B) 2007 GS 350 in Black. This has 28,000 miles on it, all the options, and has the 100,000 platinum warranty.
I prefer white, but I also prefer the rear spoiler and extra warranty.
What value would some of you owners put on the extended warranty?
Are these prices fair?
Also, how come SO many of these cars are for sale with 48k miles? Is everyone trying to get rid of them before the warranty expires? Were they lease returns?

1) my feeling is it's a good car, some rattling problems. i didn't have any brake noise myself.
2) tough call, i probably like the one with 22k miles more. spoiler you can always add it later if you want. warranty, you can figure it as maybe 1500 worth. so you can gauge it that way
on the cars, 48k is a bit high for lease returns. i think you see a lot of cars with that mileage because that's the avg mileage you see on 07 cars (4 yrs, 12k miles annually).

We just pickedup an 07 gs350 with 60k miles and every option for $23-24k so it seems like a good deal.
We've had it for almost a week and it's great. It's replacing our 2001 gs300 that we bought new and has about 250,000 miles. Only problem we've had was A/C went out a couple months back.

I'd go with black, the white ones look a lot like camrys and almost every other car. Same with silver. The 07's came out right around this time back in 06 if i remember correct. so 4 years=about 50k miles

Skyyos....a dealer would likely offer you 20k....so if you get $25k it's a fair price for you probably a little on the high side though.
doeordie22: I just picked up my 07 for roughly the same price that you are looking for..I spent a few weeks trolling the internet for them, I searched by lowest price always, and pulled about 20 carfaxs....every single car under $27,000 was either a salvage title or wrecked in some fashion so take care to check that yourself. I was looking at white too but after several of my buddies commented that it's kind of a chick color b/c of the sparkles I decided to avoid the future heckling LOL and went with gray. My brakes don't squeak but the do make loud noises when you are stopped and for example inch up at a light...this doesn't bother me, squeaking would be much more annoying. I don't have much in the way of rattles except a slight one on the passenger side of the console...not too bad though.
I would have preferred an 08 for the mirrors / aux input but they are typically MUCH more expensive so it wasn't worth it, and I stayed away from the 06 b/c the lower power, and no mp3 disc reading.
I also decided against nav, being that it's relying on an already very outdated disc, doesn't allow input while you drive, and overall is sub-par compared to googlemaps offered on most smartphones these days.

You could buy an extended warranty from AAA if the car doesn't come with a Lexus warranty.

That's funny. I called THREE different Lexus dealers and asked them "If a person bought a certified pre-owned Lexus with the 100,000 mile warranty and they decide to sell that car...does the warranty transfer?"
They all said NO.
They all said NO.
