LED - Installed
my friend helped me install these LEDs... well actually, i think the proper way to phrase it is that i helped my friend install these LEDs on my car.. it was actually a pretty easy install...
please forgive the bad photography.. i didn't realize it was so difficult to take a picture of it
the first picture was no flash, the second picture had a flash, and the third picture my friend took because i am not a good photographer

I like the idea of updating our front lights with LEDs, but so far I haven't seen it done in a way that appeals to me.
Maybe use the LS460 Sport as a model and use a small LED strip with with a diffusing lens over it installed inside the headlamp assembly.

I had the similar setup when I got my toy back in 2006, instead I had the LED strip installed inside of the HeadLight!!!
But once Audi came out with the LED DRL strip on their toys, I took mine out right away... Even though I had it on before Audi did, I did not want people to think I am the wana be...
I was over at the Sewell for car wash, couple months back. I saw a LS460 Sports painted in ORANGE COPPER driven out of the dealership (one you see on the 350Z), but I did not have the chance to take a photo...
I am working on one right now, except is on FogLight...
There is about 1cm gap between the lower covers (inside of the FogLight), I am planning to put a 5050 LEDs shooting inside-out. So when I turned on the parking lights, it would look like I have the FogLight on at the same time...
If it works out I will post another DIY for people who are interested in doing so!!!

Executed poorly, LEDs look horrible. Even some OEM designs look tacky IMO.
However, LEDs are not a fad nor are they going away any time soon. They are simply the next evolutionary development in automotive lighting.
In 1912, oil/acetylene headlamps were slowly replaced with electric light bulbs. In the early '60's manufacturers began adopting halogen bulbs. By the late '70's, all manufacturers around the world had adopted them as well. In the early '90's, European manufacturers began adopting HID/xenon headlamps. Ten to twenty years later, just about all manufacturers offer them. Most recently, LED technology is being adopted (again, initially by European manufacturers). It offers the brightness of the HID, but operates at lower temperatures and with much less energy consumption.
This will replace HID in a few years, and will itself be replaced by ... who knows what. It'll probably be a fad though.

LED's should not be added on after the fact. It looks tacky. Features like this need to be done properly by Lexus, not it's owners. As far as I'm concerned, things like this are no better than the billet grilles, "Altezza" tail-lights and "Buick" style fender vents. Your driving a Lexus, keep it clean!
