Does the ML system play mp3s on a DVD...?
Can I play DVD discs with mp3 files on the dvd player in the GS?
I burned a disc, tried playing it...but it didn't work.

Actually, most (if not all) systems on the market behave this way. I have yet to see one where it reads a DVD as a filesystem. Perhaps the new M37/56 has this ability. Infiniti always had many electronic "firsts" (rear view camera, 360 degree camera, speech recognition, blind spot detection, blind spot intervention, etc.).
As for a dirty "fix" of this problem - ML supports DVD Audio, no? This way, you can burn your MP3s as a DVD Audio disc and have it play just fine. I've done this in the older Infiniti M45 and the Acura TL-S.
Good luck.

it's a format. can't exactly say for sure how many you can put on there. you need converters and such to "create" dvd-a format. but when i think about it, if i end up storing about the same number of songs on dvd compared to number of mp3's i can store on cd, then what's the point
