However equipped, you should be able to get the car at $100 - $500 below invoice. 4GS is coming next Spring with a preview scheduled around October/November. Good time to buy a 3GS!

Lexus has some good looking cars (except for the RX, uggh <shudder>). I'm willing to bet that the 4th GS will be pleasant to look at. Benz did a fantastic job with the current E. BMW did a, meh job with the 5 series (previous gen looks better). Infiniti did a great job with the M, although, being SO stylish, I can see it aging fastest out of the group. It does, by far, have the most gorgeous interior (the M that is). Nothing in this class even comes close. Can't wait to feast my eyes on the next GS. (The LS is gorgeous.)

Back to the topic at hand.. www.edmunds.com and www.truecar.com are good starting points. You should be able to get the GS, given its age, and recent recalls / issues (with the brand in general, not in particular with the GS), for less than what those two sites will quote you.

Plus, Lexus has the summer event going right now. I'm sure they have strong incentives. It ends in a month.

Got my brand new 2010 GS 350 for 5,000 under sticker price. It has everything but adaptive cruise control and AVS. Even so, with tax and everything, still ended up paying over 50k

you sure ??? a sneak peak end of this year ?? sounds too soon.

anyway, back to price. at LEAST 14% off sticker in Cali. shouldn't be hard with the lack of demand for the GS. Tell em los angeles sells em for cheaper.
don't settle for less than 13.5% off......... esp considering that it's the outgoing model, and starting 2011, NAV and ML are STANDARD in the $46000 starting price.

That's an interesting fact to be armed with when going in to the dealership. Thanks for the info.

I think you should be able to get one for under invoice here in SoCal.

I got my 2010 GS 350, Starfire Pearl w/ tan interior, option A package for about $1500 under invoice.

I bought a 2010 AWD GS350 app. 4-6 weeks ago; black exterior, tan interior with ML, and every option available (except the dynamic cruise and curtain thing in the back windshield).

Paid 52k...certainly higher than you would pay for RWD, and I probably paid a little bit of a premium - no 2010 AWD's were available with the features I wanted in the state of TX. Had it shipped from a dealer up north. Needed AWD because I'm moving up north in about a year...and I needed a car quick; transmission on the old ride went out.

You should pay at least 12% below MSRP. I would say invoice or $500 above invoice in most of the country. $500-1000 below invoice if you are in California. Once the 2011s are on the lots you will be looking at 2010s for $1000-2000 below invoice.

If you end up paying more you are too quick on the trigger. An RFP style reverse auction approach works well in SoCal. In the rest of the country you need to be more subtle but you should still force the dealers to go through a few rounds of competition. I normally drag it out over 4-5 weeks and close in the last week of the month.
