Been thinking about getting my windows tinted lately, but had one concern? With regards to the rear window how are they suppose to tint with the rear brake light not quite touching the glass and also with the sensor? Has anyone had their windows tinted and come across this...do they cut out a small piece of the tint to go over the entire rear light unit...or do they just tint over the rear light and sensor?

I had a shop do it for me - they do some sort of digital measurement before doing an automated cut of the tint size. They put it over the rear light and the sensor (which is to dim/bright the lights in the speedometer/odo/gas area). I have 5% tint back there and haven't really noticed any issues.
I did 35% on the sides and 20% on the back didnt cut out for light I think that looks better, especially since there is a gap between light and rear window
yeah, definitely DO NOT cut out a spot in the tint for the lights. any reputable shop should know who to take the brake light off, tint the window and put the light back.
when mine was done they did not remove it the just used the soap method. I wish I could get my tint that dark I would get pulled over all the time in my state. Nothing is legal in my state for tint, of course factory OEM being the exception to the rule
