Default 2011 GS350/460 has landed...

We just got few 2011 GS in yesterday. I noticed that the 2011 is missing the "Lexus" emblem in the back. So basically all you see in the back is the "L" Logo and GS350 awd emblem... I don't like it as much. I wonder if this is going to be a trend for 2011 Lexus cars.

Checked the photo galleries for '11 models on lexus.com, and yes, it appears to be gone for all I looked at (IS, GS, GX, LX).

Cost-cutting measure, or a return to the cleaner look Lexus started with (though back then no model number - LS400 - was shown on the car either - it was just the "L")?

Good eye. Very interesting they took the Lexus off. I believe the GS has holes in the trunk so they had to pretty much create a new trunk with no holes in it.

However by now though, people see the Lexus emblem they know its a Lexus. BMW and Benz have badges only, no names.

Some brands with no image spell their names out in long letters so people know what they are. Looks cheap.

No sharkfin either? or is that optional now?

On Lexus.ca, I see the gs with no Lexus writing and only the L like everyone mentioned but it does now show the fin either.

I agree (unless of course it's a Genesis ). I've always thought the emblem was more than strong enough to stand on its own without having to spell it out too. Glad they did this.

I'd like to debadge the Lexus letters on my car too. I'm sure that topic will receive some renewed interest and hopefully some innovative methods.

It's still an option.

I prefer that they got rid of it. It's redundant.

My bad ... it's standard.

It looks like they finally axed the cassette deck. Guess they can forget about picking up any of those disappointed Crown Vic/Town Car shoppers now.

I think they got rid of the cassette in the 2010MY already.

Yes they got rid of it for 2010MY. Instead they offer a hard drive for MP3s as well as navigation.

Default F Sport

That spot is reserved for the "F Sport" emblem if so equipped.

Seriously? I guess that would definitely make sense on the GS and IS, but what about the GX and LX? For the GX, I don't know if anything is offered, and for the LX, you can only get some pretty hideous (IMO) overpriced F wheels. I guess that, at the end of the day, you could put that emblem on any model if you wanted to...

GS has a hard drive? Nice... LX had one until 2009, and they dropped it upon introducing the USB port in for MY2010.

My '07 GS did not even have an Aux port LOL!! Cassette adapter to listen to the iPod...

Some time ago, The Boston Globe had a list - with photos - of the ten most useless/outdated accessories on cars, and lo and behold, there was a nice close-up shot of the GS's cassette deck!
