Saving up and actually having money in the bank in this economy is more important than to have a nice car.... Realized that buying a nice house is much more "bling'n" than a car.

Let me guess, your friends have a lot of toys, but no money in the bank or retirement investments?
You're 100% Correct.
I have an '06 GS 300, but I also have $400 large in retirement. And I'm 39. If you have less than $400,000 socked away by my advanced aged, you're not going to make it.

I did the 'ole take this job and shove it a little over a year ago. Fortunately I was able to retire at 53. I've been doing a little part-time consulting and like others my home office is probably 10 feet from the bedroom. Have zero debt, and three cars including my '06 GS300, '98 MB SL500 and '08 Silverado. I don't think we've driven 4,000 miles in the past year, but when we do go somewhere, it's nice to have a choice, and we enjoy each ride to the fullest. Looking forward to a 1,200 mile roadtrip coming up soon, in the GS300. Still love this car like the day I bought it (May, 2009), and glad I did get it. It's fun to drive, comfortable and I totally dig the looks of it. Oh, it's also nice to not have to fill the gas tanks every week...we do that perhaps every three months or so now These three vehicles are probably the ones we'll continue to drive into the sunset of our lives. I am thrilled to have found a great Lexus product that is a complete joy to own, drive and enjoy.
