That is way too long, b/c it only took them a day to worked on my toy...
Maybe they are using your toy as guinea pig to train their technicians... just kidding, hopefully not...

I dropped mine off on Tuesday nigth. Was suppose to be a 7 hour repair and completed by Wednesday night--called yesterday and was told "hopefully" it will be completed by this afternoon. I asked for an explanation and was told they did not start working on it until yesterday.

Hey ReyRey305,
How long did they have your car?
It took the dealership a day and a half to do the valve spring recall on mine....
I did pay for the oil change because they said it was not included with the recall but they did fill the tank with premium, at least $50 right there!!

come to think about it, when i bring mine in, should i worry about them adding gas for me? i probably don't want them driving my car out of the lot to add gas, the car is low enough...

8 days? geez mine took 10 days because they said that they are backed up cars that are doing the recall. What I don't understand is why don't they just have me drop off the car when I am next up in line since it is just a 6 - 8 hour job to do. Don't see the purpose of my car sitting there for 9 days. Gets me worried.. oh and they didn't fill up my tank like they did for the rest of yall!

Well just got mine back and learned a few things from the service mgr:
--The repair is taking a lot longer then the 7 hrs they can bill. He said in some cases 10-12 hrs plus and is causing a big repair b.u. They figure 800 vehicles (sold/serviced) by them will be coming through for the repair. Will take quite a while to accomodate all.
--Says the repair cost is in the $2,500 range with the parts expense over $1,200.
--Only having senior mechanics do the work--in pairs. Because of this they can only do 10 or 15 per week at their dealership.
--My car took 3 days as a part broke (described as a housing on the w.o.) when they did the disassembly and then had to wait a day for its arrival (as it is not part of the std. ALE campaign kit).
No oil change was done--but i did get the full tank of gas upon pickup--as they need to purge the fuel system to do the work.
