Thoughts After Valve Spring Recall Done (pics added)

Mine has been done for almost one month now... Have not really got a chance to drive my car much (<100 miles) but other than the first night's oil burning smell, it rides smoothly. I did not notice any difference. The engine oil was changed and gas filled up, these were the plus.

I should be getting mine done soon. My service advisor @ Jim Pattison Lexus of North Vancouver voluntarily ordered parts for every outstanding job for my 07 GS350 AWD as my warranty will be up in November. Definitely the best service experience ever there.

Well i wouldnt know by taste my self, but its funny how this girl told me after we was done she smelled skittles or i think she mentioned something like " i feel like i tasted the rainbow" but i thought she was talking bout different kind of rainbow ( like same sex). Hhhmmm this is a very interesting tread keep it going.

Here you go Jay. This should cover everything else. Your significant other will be impressed!
Back to the original topic, after reading the ALE, it looks like these are some things to watch for after springs are replaced:
oil leaks
excessive valve noise
burning oil
fuel leaks
rough idle

Well, took my 07 AWD Tuesday morning, picked it up two days later. There used to be some vibration at stop lights while in D, and after a whole day of driving (about two hours), I can say that the vibration at stop lights has decreased significantly and the engine seems to run smoother. As far as performance or anything like that, honestly I can't tell.
Either way, I'm happy with the service as usual. The car is spotlessly clean and they filled up the tank too. If you are hesitant about getting it done, I really don't think that you should worry. It sounds like the techs have been trained to do the recall. They may be a little slow but I think they know what they're doing. Interesting to note that the recall was listed at about $2,300.
The only thing I'm not happy about is the quote for 30k service... $535?! Ouch.

FWIW...Taking the car in for the recall work this afternoon. Dealer said the recall does not involve an oil change. But they will fill up my tank for the inconvenience (OK with me as I'm in need of a fill-up).

i didnt even know about the recall until my dealership put me down for an appt next week when i was there over the weekend getting my usual maintanance. They said they need the car for a couple of days and they are also fixing the cam sprocket TSB rattle noise that comes about every now and then upon start up, and they will also replace the spark plugs. Next on the list, the crappy brake feel/vibration i get often but not all the time (yet my brake pads are still good) Weird....

Huh? What is the TSB number on that? My dealer has been telling me that the rattle on start up is typical of that engine (07 GS350), and there is nothing they can do about it.
