Thoughts After Valve Spring Recall Done (pics added)
Well, took my 07 AWD Tuesday morning, picked it up two days later. There used to be some vibration at stop lights while in D, and after a whole day of driving (about two hours), I can say that the vibration at stop lights has decreased significantly and the engine seems to run smoother. As far as performance or anything like that, honestly I can't tell.
Either way, I'm happy with the service as usual. The car is spotlessly clean and they filled up the tank too. If you are hesitant about getting it done, I really don't think that you should worry. It sounds like the techs have been trained to do the recall. They may be a little slow but I think they know what they're doing. Interesting to note that the recall was listed at about $2,300.
The only thing I'm not happy about is the quote for 30k service... $535?! Ouch.

After my valve springs got done my underwear started to smell better, and skittles started coming out of the driver's side air vent whenever I pressed the headlight washer button.

Hmmmm. My guess is that the tech spilled Skittles into the air vent somehow, causing it to clog and shorting the wiring to the washer switch and climate control. So, naturally when you activate the washer switch, some of the Skittles get blown out, but most of the pressure is forced into the driver's seat air duct. Simple really.
