Hi all!
On a sunday afternoon, the tire pressure light came on!
I checke, but no problem with the tire pressure. During the whole week the light was on, I checked the tire pressure at least 4 times, but the pressure was alway perfect.
On friday I was at the dealer for oil service and told them the tire pressure light is on for some reason, but no problem with the pressure.... The solved it somehow, the light was not on the whole afternoon, when I went to the highway in the evening. I started to go fast and the light came turned on again! I started to be angry and doing about 170-180kmh, suddenly my rear right tire blown! The tire burst, splitted into pieces by the time I could stop!
Thank god and thank Lexus I could stay in control of the car 100%!! But I had to buy new tires!!![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So be careful if the light comes on! The computer knew something, although the pressure was ok!
The light disappeared right after I got the new tires!!!

These were Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires!
I loved them and to tell the truth I was
planning to buy new ones next spring but
they seemed to be good enough till the end
of this summer season! I think they were
about 30-40%! I never try to
save money on tires and brakes, but they
looked ok!!

Luckily it was a rear tire. Could have been more difficult to handle at that speed, if a front one would have been blown up.
Sounds like the tire had a small puncture, sealed at slow speeds, but which opened up with high rotation speeds and finally the puncture opened up more at autobahn speeds. Maybe the start of the puncture was so close to the tire pressure sensor that it could measure the change of pressure, when air was flowing out, but the overall pressure was still not noticeable changed. Just speculating.....
The tire pressure sounds perfect. Could even go a bit higher, if driving that kind of speeds daily.

Also the owners manual says that while 33 PSI cold is standard spec for normal driving, you should add 9 PSI for speeds over 100 mpg. Personally I have found 36PSI cold is solid for speeds above 100mph.
