The reason it costs so much is the homelink is now in the mirror where in the 2GS it is in a separate compartment above the roof. I saw the invoice for it that had to be approved and I was like "damn that is F-sport money"
My dealer offered to fix it for free too after I asked about it. I told him that I'll see how the tightening went before committing for a full replacement - not sure i want to replace entire windshield for this.

I'll check out TSIB too.

wow.

for the people that pay under a 100$ for the oil change, is that including the loaner car or do you wait for your cars? and inspections included?

i just got my oil changed, and the dealer charged me 188$ -25$ coupon they have on their website totaling 163$ with taxes and everything. and i always get a loaner because of work.

if it is under a 100$, then i need to find another dealer.

Its about $80 for me including the loaner, which they shouldn't charge for. My service advisor usually gives me a loaner if he is going to have my car for a couple of hours. Same thing goes for my Infiniti dealer.

Your dealer is working you. I don't see how they can charge $188 for an oil change. It's only 30 minutes of labor at max.

My dealer does oil change for $60. They do a Level 1 service (oil change, tire rotation and inspections/checks) for $100.

There is no charge for loaner - but only an idiot would take a loaner for a 30 minute oil change - It would take longer to drive home and back!

hmm ic,

i looked at the bill and i got charged for 1.5 hours of labor. is this because i asked them to look at my headlights and my side mirrors which are going up by themselves and they couldnt fix?

loaner - i need to get to and from work.

was this the 1st oil change you have ever gotten there if not, how much did they charge before? the 50k service you mentioned may have something to do with that price

i go to prestige in ramsey. they do other inspections so i guess thats where everything comes in to play? If I ask for just the oil change Im pretty sure it would be less.

i usually paid around 130-160$ per except for the big ones.

I change my oil every 3 months, so I do simple oil and filter changes in between routine services.

This may be overkill, but my car is driven in a manner that a German customer might.

My dealer charges $78 for an oil change which includes a loaner and the lounge. I change my oil every 5,000 - 7,500 miles since I drive 70 mph on cruise control to work. Not to mention a car wash though not the best. Not bad, especially when they let me drive around in a IS or RX for the day!

...and I thought Park Place was expensive, they charge $150 for oil change (no loaner).

At Sewell, they only charge $50 for oil change, which includes an exceptional&superior service, a loaner and a wash afterward.

Since I bring my own Mobil 1, they charge $30 for the labor, oil filter, a loaner, a wash afterward, and exceptional&superior service still!!!

Good thing I do not live in NJ anymore !!!

The people who complain about the money it takes to keep their cars going and maintenance costs should not be in a Lexus. Not to be an elitist, but there are cars for you out there and they Camrys, Avalons or Corollas. People try to do things for bottom dollar while trying to live "up" seemingly beyond their means.

To me, these costs are almost negligible because I EXPECTED to pay a bit more and it would be absurd to expect otherwise.

end of rant
