My guess is this is how air gets to the ducts that blow to the rear passenger seats and rear console vent? Do you feel any air coming out of there when the fan is on?

The worst part is I couldn't find this part at all anywhere.

But the air duct is almost part of the structure, it's inside and not really touching the dash. At least not this air duct, it direct the air to the back.
Yes, this air duct seem to take the air from the front vent and direct it down in the back of the middle receiver and to the back. This is probably why I hardly feel any air coming out of the vent in the back.![Sad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)

There is no connection between the top air duct and the bottom air duct behind the center console.

ok, sorry for the delay but i finally got the take a picture.
it's true that there is no connection between the top and bottom air duct. however, i don't think it's right to say that the air just go wherever. on the top duct, i didn't notice any major opening. it's just an independent duct
for the bottom one, as you can see, at the end of it, it actually gets connected to the back channel (white). it's not glued on, but from what i felt, it has foam surrounding and it's reasonably tight. it seems like the air for that bottom black duct comes from whatever bottom white channel at the back.
hope this answers your questions. as to where you feel the heat / coolness, i don't know. i ran my car for a few mins with a/c on (blowing cold air), i tend took out the nav unit, i didn't notice any noticeable "coldness" at the back

np. sorry couldn't take a better pic. my other hand was holding the whole freaking unit and it's not the lightest thing out there. got other stuff going on so couldn't really disconnect everything for a cleaner look. so i just used one hand feeling around and tracing the duct
