this is why I do not mess with bulbs or lights. Its kind of a BS mod anyway. Keep it stock and things will work just fine.

I've ran Nokya for years with no issues in my 2GS. I went with a set for the fogs on the 3GS and they did go out pretty quickly (I need to contact the seller), like a month which surprised me.

Hey fellas, these 9006 bulbs state something like 70W output at 55W power.....so as to imply more output than power. I would NEVER put in bulbs with a higher wattage than OEM. Buyer beware, Here is the pic of the packaging on my bulbs NOTE STOCK WATTAGE

here is some text from ebay

Someone posted........

I think this may have been the reason in all honesty, I ran them for a while before this happened....perhaps dirt or corrosion increased resistance thru the contact and caused the failure

I have them on my car but i have a protective high wattage wire connecte to the bulb becuase I was told you will need that so you don't burn out your actually lines. I've yet to change them in two years.

Interesting, when I had researched them I noted them to be the proper wattage. I even called teh company up today (they are local to me btw) and they told me, yes they are 55w bulbs with a "70w" looking output - marketing....they will research this and get back to me, whatever. I initially posted this as many of us get these and perhaps people should either get a harness or get a different brand or whatever. What is interesting to me is why would a new harness make a difference since the melt will occur at a place of most resistance, hence a new harness attaches to the old one and the highest resistance will be at that connection, perhaps its distance from the heat source...I dont know, dont care, I am back to oems for now..
Here is the nokya website that confirms these are indeed only 55Watts - Nok 7610
