So decided to do something small to the car. If you reference the Side Turn Signal DIY you can see how to take apart the doors. This is a 10 min DIY job and looks much nicer IMO.
I think he just means that this upgrade gives you the chrome door lock toggle. but you have to replace the whole assembly to do it.
Its actually just the lock. the OEM black plastic one pops off once you remove the door panel. You have to remove the door panel since the cables for locking are attached from the back. I was lazy to take more pics. Its really simple.
I also found out that the "wood" trim on the doors actually does come out. There is ~ 12 screws that hold it in place. It looks like it will be a PITA but good to know that its actually not glued to the door like I had read in another thread.
I also eliminated my passenger door rattle...I did nothing more then take off the panel and place it back on Hope it lasts
What's strange about this is for some reason we just don't sell a bunch of these. At least considering other upgrades for the IS, we only sell a few sets of these a month.
For what we've noticed with the guys who've installed them here, we didn't realize the improvement until they were actually installed. Now it's all they talk about when referring to the cheap/simple upgrades.
