2006 GS430 0-60, 1/4 mile times?
So my buddy just got back from the military, and we took a drive up the canyons. He's got a 2006 WRX STI, and so we decided to do a few races just for the hell of it.
Off the line to 60, it was actually a lot closer than I thought it would be. I thought he would absolutely smoke me, but was maybe a half second quicker to 60. Does that seem right? I know it's not a very accurate test, but it really was a lot closer than I thought it would be. We then did a few 50-80 races, and it was really close - he was maybe 1/2 car length ahead of me when we got to 80. We were both scratching our heads because we thought for sure the STI would smoke this big heavy luxury sedan.
So I go onto a few review sites online and they state the GS430 gets to 60 in 6.0+ seconds (some say 6.0, some 6.5+). Other reviews say the 2006 STI gets to 60 in roughly 4.5 seconds. That does not seem accurate at all to what I noticed when we raced.
So I guess my question is, does anyone have true 0-60 times this car can do, other than what a few review mags/websites say?

06 430 is about 6 seconds that's about right, maybe 5.8 or so coz' of the 6 speed vs 5 speed on the previous generation. it's probably more about your friend with the sti. that car has awd right? if he's launching it correctly, that car will do sub 5 for sure
and rolling run, especially on higher speed, the v8 is going to start to shine
