Checked with my dealer again and they said they will notify me when they recieve the parts, so when the parts arrive thats when they will do the recall, amazing why it takes so long, I'm tryin to get this done before snow hits the ground.

My car is booked for this recall for December 4. Probably could have brought it in earlier, but that was the first Saturday they had available so I could get it done while I waited. So, at least in Canada, the dealerships seem ready for this now if you guys wanted to go ahead and check with your dealers.

My brake performance is actually kind of spongy compared to the last ES loaner I got, so I'm kind of wondering if my car is suffering from this or not. Could just be air in the system since I have not had the fluid flushed since I bought the car... time for the service is about 2 hours. I'm fairly sure that a brake system bleed needs to be done as part of this so hopefully one way or another the braking performance will improve.

I called a dealer in Atlanta who said they don't have the parts to do this yet.

I suppose I don't need this since I swapped out my brakes for BBK?

the recall is to fix some seal on the brake master cylinder that can potentially leak...so if you still have the stock brake master cylinder, i would think this recall still applies to you (provided you are within the affected VIN range).

BBK is totally unrelated to the master cylinder which is the piece in the engine compartment directly connected underneath the brake fluid reservoir. The master cylinder is what actually pressurizes the fluid to cause the calipers to engage.

Can you do me a favor and check your invoice? Does it mention anything about bleeding the brakes, or anything about brake fluid on a parts list?

Mine as well, my GS has a production date of 06/06 which is probably last of the 2006 models.

My car was one of the first few thousand produced, hopefully when they were still paying attention to detail. :P

It's the grandpappy of most of your 3GSs.

Ok thanks, just what I thought.

Someone knows where can I buy online this toyota genuine brake fluid?
Just for curiosity, and to be able to buy other genuine fluids.
