Since you didn't get the valve spring recall it's doubtful you'll get the warranty extension anyway.

shaq98, did you get the letter today?

i wonder when i am getting mine, that'd be great, maybe i am destined to get another lexus next yr
Yes, I go the letter yesterday from Lexus. I live in Los Angeles and maybe that is why I got it a bit earlier than anyone else. The extended warranty is for 6 years or 100,000 miles.

i read on the ls460 forum that in the fine print, the 6yr/100k is started from the day the car was purchased and starting from 0 miles

imho that's pretty useless..... 100k miles in 6 yrs, that's quite a lot of driving. and the factory warranty is already 6yr/70k miles..... i would think 9yr/100k miles make more sense

Well, that's the point really. It makes people feel good without extending their risk very much. I wonder if it applies to people who have already exceeded their 70K mileage allowance. If so, that could be a real boon to somebody who's car has existing problems that aren't covered.

oh well.

some people could use it- those who commute 60 miles a day.

with 2 engine surgery recalls, it would be nice to have a lifetime powertrain warranty

Yeah that would be nice.. I think the new Tacomas have a lifetime on their power train.. we paid good money for our cars and ours is limited

What is the freaking point of extending only the mileage, but not the year !?!

Those poor trees got chopped for no good reason...

funny you say that. i used to commute 120 miles a day for almost a year (thus the 48k miles on the clock now). i guess if i continue to do that, then i would be happy about the 100k warranty. but for majority of the people, what's the point

Hey you guys, if you have extended warranty from Lexus before the warranty extended, you will get a $500 gift card from Lexus Financial Services. I just confirmed with Lexus.

With the amount of driving I do, I would rather they extend the time than the mileage.

I received a letter from Lexus this week but nowhere in the letter did it mention extending the powertrain warranty to 100k. The letter did include a $1,500 certificate towards the purchase or lease of a new Lexus within the next year, and also stated that I would be receiving a $500 gift card towards the purchase of parts and services from my local Lexus dealership.
It would be nice to have the powertrain warranty extended since I'm at 71k miles.

Also they sent me a coupon for $1,500 for any purchase or lease of a new Lexus within a year. Impressed about Lexus' quality customer service!!!

By the way, I purchased extended warranty from Lexus before upto 100,000 miles. So I just emailed Lexus to extend my extended warranty another 30,000 miles accordingly. Will keep you posted on that. Wish me LUCK!
That's odd, we had two cars with the 3.5 at the time and here's how it worked for us:

IS350: Already had a 100,000 mile warranty that we purchased from the dealer (not CPO). In this case Lexus sent us the $1500 off a new car and a $500.00 Parts/Service gift certificate which turned out to be a pre-paid Visa.

GS450h: This car had the standard warranty and in this case Lexus sent us the $1500 off a new and extended the warranty to 6 yrs/100,000 miles. Also, FWIW, this car was purchased used from a Non-Lexus dealer. And in reference to the above post, this car only had 22,000 miles on it at the time.

All in all, I'm happy! Hope this helps.
