...do you typically use for an oil change? costco by the way has coupons for mobil 1 - $6 off a 4pk or something like that...or was it $9.

K for a gs350 awd i put it 6 1/2, you're manual will state how much oil you need. Also next time you ask a question like that be more specific if u have a gs300,gs350,gs430,gs460 or gs450h.

yes, it's a 300 awd. i looked in the manual today. i think it said something along the lines of 1.1 qt per 1,000 miles. so for 6,000 miles it's 6.6 qts?

my last time at my independent mechanic i just gave him 6 qts.... maybe that's what caused the sulfur smell - they didn't put in enough oil? i added 3/4 of a qt today. only drove for a few miles but didn't notice the smell. will try again tomorrow.

lol, wtf? that sounds retarded. did lexus really put that in the manual? in that case ill fill it up real good 12 qts so i can go 12,000 miles.lol. 6.5 quarts maybe a little more is what i was told at discount auto parts. if you go there just ask them how many quarts you need they know right in the computer.

I believe this, per the manual, is referring to the possible rate of oil consumption (burn off) by the engine.
