Hello everyone:
I recently purchased 06 GS300 AWD and everything is great except the tires are really loud. I have stock wheels 225/50-17 and current tires are Goodyear Eagle RS-A. I still have about 1/4 of life left in them but they are really loud. I would definetly would like to have more like a quiet lexus ride, so that was a surprise to me. Do you think is possible to have a more quiet tires? Which brand of new tires would you suggest to get? I am not an aggresive driver, live in Southern California, so I am looking more for quiet ride and long miles to put on them. I researched forums here and tirerack.com and narrowed it down to three choices that I think would make sense: Continental Extreme Contact DWS, Bridgestone Turanza Serenity and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. I heard alot of good things about all of them, but I would like to know more about the negatives, so I can make a decission of getting something that I would not be dissapointed with. I know Michelin's become louder and louder with more mileage on them, Bridgestone's tend to pull a little and Continentals are not as good in the corners, lags so to speak and not as responsive on the road. Thank you everyone for the input and suggestions.

I've had the old extreme contacts & I only got about 18k miles on both a Legend & a 328ci. The only Bridgestones I've had are RE960's, & they were OK. The Pilot Sport A/S are by far the best as far as ride, rain traction, & mileage. I had them on an E46 M3, & got almost 40K. They are worth the extra money. I always use Tirerack.

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the tires you mentioned. I looked extensively as well an eventually selected the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus' for my 06 GS430 which replaced the original Nitto tires that were extremely noisy. I purchased in June and have probably driven about 7K and couldn't be happier. Extremely quiet and truly does feel like you are driving on air. I believe they are rated for 45k. I live in CA as well and don't drive in snow or bad weather as yourself. Traction and handling are very good as well. You will not be disappointed with these tires.
