Engine Swap/Turbocharge?

They seem to handle 5lbs of boost with out any tuning or piggy back. Our car will do the same its just boils down to the cost. I still think this car can be pushed just like the 2gen you just need to have the right parts to make it happen

What are the major components of the Toms kit? It would seem that these you could by these parts seperately and throw a kit together for much cheaper. A solid turbo is only $1000 what other pieces add up to the other 14k in the kit???? Piping & belts??? Has anyone piggy backed management to the ECU of this car, if so what brand?

Just enjoy the car for what it is, a mainly trouble free nice looking vehicle that doesn't race but is more than enough to get around with some authority.
Adding anything to it for power that introduces chances of things going wrong just seems counter intuitive for this brand.

this car along with the is are not designed to be modded. high compression engines suck. basically they got all the power they could get out of the engine and thats it. in order to get this car to move faster i would suppose it would take a whole lot of custom work and engine surgery. in other words $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. turbo is not a good idea. you will want to boost more than 5 pds. then blow the engine. plus the $$$$ for and extra 30-50 h.p. not worth it. id be interested if that chip works. like i said im happy with 300 h.p. but of course 350 is better.lol

My GS460 pumps out only 322hp. While all others pump out the advertised 342hp. Lexus seem to think we do not deserve the extra 20hp. I dynoed my car and the results were shocking!
255whp with an Air/Fuel ratio of 8.5 and 9:1. That is bloody rich! I need to lean it out a little and get my 20hp back!

I agree with those who say the 300 is not that slow.
I also would hav trouble considering boosting the engine in this car with vitually no aftermarket support. But, if you have a really good mechanic who is an expert then......someone has to do it. Be the first. 10k is a good start but you'l prolly need more.
I say go for it.

wow, um this is not a true statement, compression and boost go very well together. look into other makes and see what im talking about, Mazda speeds are high compression and turbo, people who turbo there type r's thats 11:1 compression plus boost.. my personal toy is 10.5:1 and boost on stock internals, as long as you do tuning correct compression and boost go very well together, it helps with spool up and lag. there are a few is350s running around south florida that have been turbod. so i don't see why the gs would be any different
