Almost like its like trying to up shift to a higher gear when it doesn't need to or its gear hunting. It feels like the light jerkiness when you are starting to run out of fuel but not quiet there, its light but noticeable and annoying.
Dont ride around town in that sport setting. It makes the shifts change a little different. kind of jerky sometimes. I only use that setting on highway trips. That might be your issue.

Hmm, that does not sound right. One of the things a 3GS is best at is silky smooth shifting. It might creak and crackle like ship's rigging (as I have whined endlessly about that here) but the engine / transmission interface should be absolutely seamless. I've had passengers comment they can't tell when it changes gears. I do have the awd model, but I dont think that should make a diff.

I can't believe how much these cars have depreciated in 4 years. I guess we're almost at 5 years now. i'm looking in autotrader, and seems like all the '06's are going for like $20,000 - 23,000 no matter if they have 15,000 miles or 90,000 miles.

I feel like a moron for paying $35,500 2.5 years ago for my 2006 GS awd with 20,000 miles. I guess for $15,000 more the transmission better damn well shift perfectly. You really pay extra for the nav/ml/vented seats/pwr sunshade/rain sensing wipers/headlamp washers etc. Apparently $15,000 extra.

Its not in sport mode, its normal mode. Is there a "old man" mode to make things softer?

They really havent depreciated that much, KBB on this car is still $27,330 i just so happen to get one at a great deal from a desperate dealer Dont feel bad, BMW and Mercedes has a far higher depreciation them any Lexus. Think about this next time, a 2004 LS430 that once went for $56k is now about $25k used in decent shape. a 2004 Mbz S500 that once went for $77k is now worth like $22K.

those are sick, rota makes one that looks like it also. both actually copies of the Volk T37 off roads but i dont feel like waiting 6 months and paying 3k+ for some rims for the beater lol. what tire size are you running on the 4Runner? i cant really see the size in the pic. did your come stock with 17s also?

my Gs has high mileage and it doesnt shift like that. mine is very smooth. maybe try doing a tranny service like drain and filling the tranny with OEM fluid. that might help and the harsh shifting.

if your looking for new rims check out vossen wheels. they have some that are decently priced and some good looking wheels. i have some on my car and love it.

i dont think the depreciated in value that much. it just in a recession some people are selling their cars below book just to dump them.

The tires on my 4Runner is 275 70 16 Yokohama Geolander AT/S, yea originally mine came with the 17x7.5 OEM Chrome alloys, hideous things they were.

As for the trans i might have Longo flush it since its going there tomorrow anyways, i hope they dont rape me.
