K i took one for the team, getting the mudflaps from ebay. Once i get my car back from the shop and install them ill post some pics. I really hate back of my bumper having splash marks from tires and debris hitting it. If i didnt live in a 4 season state and lived in a warm climate area i wouldnt do it. But with all the salt on the roads i want to protect the most i can.

A car with aftermarket bodywork is a little different . Nobody wants a car thats had paintwork assuming we are talking about unaltered cars .

Sorry to deliver the bad news, buddy, but you are wasting your money on that e-bay garbage. I tried those, they look like c-r-a-p and don't fit at all. I bought mine from Carson Toyota. They are expensive, but I love the way they look. As far as practicality of them..... They are mostly for the looks.

There is no way i am spending over $400 on carson mudflaps, I am not really trying to go for looks as much as for protection.

protection from gravel get pickup by your wheel hitting the bottom of the car? What kind of protection really? I look under mine and it doesn't look bad. I only drive on paved roads.

It look less 'sleek' to me with the splash guard. I see very little need for it. I think for me it'll be worse, I do mostly highway driving and this splashguard will increase drag.

Protecting the bumper, ok if you look from the bak of ure gs towards the wheels u will see the tire. The bumper on the bottom doesnt cover the tire fully. I always have dirt there and splash spots from the tires on my bumper.

i'd go for the 3M clear bra idea. you can buy some smallish sheets off of ebay and cut to the size you need.

If it was a civic it would be called downforce and be considered a good thing, you know to work with the giant spoiler to make sure the car doesn't fly off the ground and a 12 inch muffler tip so that the whole neighborhood knows that you're mowing the lawn, er, driving away.

I assure you that your GS won't be held back by mudflap drag till you get around 180 .
