is there any possible way your service rep can tell us which warranty protocol he went under? it would be fantabulous if i could get a new mirror
I'm not sure of what code or technical term he classified it as, but I know he wrote it up as a safety issue.

what do you mean worker? You want to replace the whole unit with a new assembly? Because that would be waaaaaaay more than the 89.95 to repair your OEM mirror.

Thanks. I took a look at the mirror and figured out how to take it off. Only had 1 screw and the rest were just plastic clips snapped on. Good thing I saw that picture of the housing scratched as it made me take mine apart. I'm only going to send in the glass itself. The housing is actually easy to take apart.

sounds like a great idea, but if you already know how to take out the housing apart, you can DIY the whole thing yourself.

How do you fix this? The front glass seems to be glued to another glass with one wire soldered to front glass and one to the back glass. How much is it for the glass assembly?

After taking mine apart. I realized that you can actually send in the glass without even taking the mirror down from its mount. The front bezel actually is clipped to the back piece and comes off in a similar manner to how a hard case for a smartphone comes apart. Once you have it open, all you have to do is disconnect one wire that is connected to the mirror glass. I gotta say it looks so much better now without that defective mirror.

Received my mirror today. its looks good at new. I'm very happy with the results. Price...$15 to ship to scott at radar-mirror.com. labor $89 and a return shipping fee or $15 =s $119. It is well worth the wait.
