If i needed extra interior room or 4x4 then... i guess i would. Other than that NO, reasonds are its an expensive Jeep, MPG, and maintenace. I have a 2000 GC Limited and it ran like cr*p after 100k. I looked at one when i was looking for a car but bought a 07 GS AWD. No regrets!

If you are looking to buy an SUV that can do NOTHING that an SUV was designed to do, then the Jeep SRT8 is a good choice. The Jeep SRT8 cannot go off road, it achieves horrible fuel economy, and it can't tow anything. To top it all off, you have one of the lowest quality interiors on the face of the planet. The Jeep SRT8 is fast, but that's about all it has going for it.
Most sites claim the Jeep SRT8 runs 13.5 1/4 mile @ 103 mph in stock trim; very quick for an SUV, but I wouldn't even consider this thing to be an SUV since there is nothing utilitarian about it. It's nothing more than a tall car.
If you're going to get something in the price range of an 08' SRT8, which is about $30,000 - $35,000, you could get so many nicer vehicles than an SRT8.
You could get a CPO GS460 or GS450h. Consider that the GS460 runs a 13.9 1/4 mile @ 103 mph in stock trim and the GS450h runs a 13.5 1/4 mile @ 105 mph in stock trim. Both are pretty comparable to the SRT8's figures and are more loaded, more reliable, and get about 2-3x's the fuel economy.
If you are dying to buy an SUV, the GX470 is an awesome truck (2003 and 2004 4- wheeler of the year with a locking diff, full time 4x4, height-adjustable suspension, etc. etc.) You could buy a good used one with low miles for about $20K-25K.
Beyond Lexus', there are alot of nice German cars you could buy if you aren't afraid of high maintenance costs. E55 AMG, 550i, 750Li, and Audi's.
I just looked on cars.com and there are 68 Porsche Cayenne Turbo's for sale in the U.S. below $35K. Many have around 40K-50K miles.
So my answer would be, no, I wouldn't buy the SRT8.
