I got the valve spring recall service performed today and.......
I bought my Lexus from a wholesaler up in Mesa, AZ about a month ago and took it to the Lexus dealer here in Tucson for it's first oil change last week just for good measure. When I got my oil changed the service advisor went out of his way to look up my VIN to see if the valve spring recall had been performed yet; it hadn't. So he set me up with an appointment to bring my car in this week and drop it off. I arrived to the dealer at 7AM when they opened and they already had a 2011 ES350 with 25 miles on the Odometer all warmed up and waiting for me. I got a call later on this evening to pick up my car.
Reasons I am happy with Lexus of Tucson on Speedway:
1. They got my car fixed in 1 day.
2. When I dropped my car off it was very dirty on the outside from a rain storm we had last night and the tank was on fumes. When I picked the car up it was fully detailed with a full tank of gas.
3. The advisor informed me that since I didn't have the extended warranty on my car that I would be getting a letter in the mail shortly extending my warranty from 6/70K to 6/100K.
4. I didn't have to pay the $2500 to get this service performed myself.
Alot of people have claimed to experience a HP gain from getting the recall done. At first I thought my car felt faster but in retrospect I think the main reason why I felt that way was because the loaner they gave me was an ES350. Not to knock the ES, but man, I couldn't own one. It was very boring to drive and very very slow in comparison to my GS450h. My wife's GX470 felt like it had more grunt than the ES350 did. They really downtuned the V6 in that car.........
