Man , gotta say, I really loved this post.

Why? It gave me tips, like that brake power bleeder, I didn`t know of.
Also, reminded me of how good the seafoam is, and I see you are quite a believer of it.

Staying away of the stealership, is just awesome.!

Nice. I just bought an 07 AWD GS 350 with 50,090 miles and although I know dealer service is a rip-off by nature, I decided to get the 50k service there and have a certified Lexus mech give my new ride a once-over. After paying through the rear ($1,074) for the 50k and a brake service (which didn't even include new rotors!) I'll definitely be buying the 60K parts wholesale and doin this one myself. I was already getting nervous even though it 10,000 miles out.

I grew up in NY and moved to NC seven years ago.....Come on down. First oil change is free to all transplants.

It really saves a ton of money by doing your own maintenance as this thread shows. I wouldn't be able to afford the dealer bills with an oil change once a month and brake jobs to boot. That gets pricey after a while.

Nothing to report other than the car will have 88k on it by Friday. With the regular 5k oil changes, air filter cleaning every 15k and cabin filters every 30k, she has been builtproof. The new tires have 28k on them and they still have more than 50% of tread left. Not bad for a 245 front 275 rear Staggered setup.

Good Morning MMade22,

Much appreciated thread! Down here in Canton, GA and was under the hood yesterday to see if a guy with my skillset could make access to change the sparks. The left side seemed easy after removing the air intake tube.

How did you gain access on the right side? I've got a line of tubing/wire that is zip-stripped. In fooling around, I obviously found the fuel line...thank God I was able to snap that back together quickly!

The way my mechanic did it, was remove the coil on the right side (its tricky but with the right tool you can loosen the coil and the spark plug)

I ended up just snipping the zip-strips and that gave me access to the rear two, but the black plastic thing that sits about the first plug on the right prevents a rachet or a crescent (at the least the ones I have) from getting in there.

Any other ideas folks?

FYI, what he used on mine yesterday was a pivot ratchet and about a 14" extension. Don't let anybody BS you saying you have to remove the intake manifold...

mmade22,

After 8 months of using those LITECH 9005 bulbs, have you had any issues? I've been thinking about replacing the high beams in my 07 GS 350 with MTECH Cosmo Blues but I'm worried about 65W being too much. From the pictures it looks like them LITECHs you used are 65W as well, I'm assuming nothing has melted yet on you? If not I'm gonna follow you and buy LITECHs. Clearly this thread shows I can't argue with anything you say regarding this car.

How did you get the motive brake bleeder to work on the GS300? Their site says that it does not work on GS
