I understand that part for the most part thats not the issue, the issue is we have these DRL's and I have yet to see them, I always see the city lights on never the DRLs so thats where I get confused

when you are riding around during the day time you should see your inner lights on (by inner lights I mean the inner headlight housings)...these lights are halogen and they are your day time runners...HOWEVER they also double as your high beam light. Thats right one bulb is both your DTR and your high beam (the DTR runs at half the voltage)....the city/parking lights are also halogen and are in the SAME housing at the very top corner. Now the big headlight housing (outter) is where your main headlight is which is obviously a HID bulb. A lot of people dont like the look of hte halogen CITY LIGHT in junction with the HID headlifht so they replace the CITY LIGHT with a LED light. The turn signal is in the main (outter) headlight housing. I HOPE this clears it up.

huh?? the DTR is on when your headlights are OFF and you are driving around during the day. the small inner housings should be lighting up. The city lights go on when your headlights are on at night, at this point your DTRS are off.

So if you change out your DTR's with LED's, do you lose your high beams??

I think if you have a decoder for your DRL, hi beams should work. Planning to get some soon.

I'll take a pic tomorrow but I swear the city lights are on whether my low beams are on or off. I never seen the High Beam on at all.

nope...youre gettin it confused since BOTH BULBS are in the same housings....the bigger middle one is your DTR (and high beam) and the smaller one in the top corner is your city light that goes on when your headlight is on....they are in the same housing and one of them is always on so its easy to think that its the same bulb BUT its not....I replaced my city light with an led so it matches my 6000k headlights...my DTR is still a halogen bulb that is on during the day (I didnt change this to led cuz I still want use of my high beams)
