I have a 2006 GS300. Although it opened fine twice today, when I got home and tried to get my computer bag out, neither the internal panel nor my key fob button would open the trunk. The fob light goes on and works for the door lock/unlock, but the trunk is completely unresponsive--no noise.
I managed to reach my bag through the back seat pass-through and contort myself enough to get my laptop out... but any suggestions on making my trunk release work again?

Happened to me today as well b/c I had the a/c actuator fixed and they accidently push the valet button. You can use the physical key from the back lol to open the trunk even with the valet button pushed so I found out.
