GS350 vs IS350 gear ratio
i was looking at the carrier assembly differential on the gs 350 and the is 350, they look exactly the same set up but of course the gear ratio is higher in the is
gs350 - ratio 3.76
is350 - ratio 4.08
has anyone attempted to see if everything would line up axle to axle?? i have a few dealerships including carson toyota looking into this. We would sacrifice some top end power on the gs but maybe worth a try for a quicker response off the line.
Your thoughts?

i think the higher the number, the "lower" the ratio. but that's just terminology
interesting, never thought they are different. if it's bolt on, i think this is going to be one quick mod for gs350 people to gain a lot of speed. on my gs400, i changed to the 3.76, and the car got so much faster. in fact, traction soon become a problem.

I have thought about the traction issue, but good tires and possible Tom's LSD is a future mod if this works. Definitly will kick the gs up a noche.

thats only if the traction is to bad.. not ready to fork up 2+gs on TOM just yet plus having to wait 4 month to get it from Japan.
But that does make sense. Only thing is that it might be much cheaper to buy the differential assb. used than buying the gears at the dealership.
