ball joint issue didn't really arise mostly until 7-8th yr of ownership. my 98 gs400 didn't have problem when i sold it in 08. not sure if i can say the same with 3gs

Just got this recall done today. I had to call them for them to schedule me. My dealer is lexus of englewood NJ. While i was there i told them about my AFS sensor flashing and they adjusted it back to normal for $44 which is kinda expensive but not rape. And oh yeah just my luck my check vsc light went off right before i left my house to go to the dealership. I had to get a new gas cap bc it wasnt holding the pressure properly so that was $115 just to see what was wrong and then $29 for the new cap.. All together it was a free fuel pressure sensor recall service, free car wash, and $201 for a gas cap and a AFS flashing light removal..the car being hooked up to the machine killed me...i'm supposed to be saving money to move out of my parents house lol. NYC apartments are killer expensive!

Mine was done this week as well. Only needed the tightening. Nice to get a free full tank of gas though. :-)

I don't know why dealers are saying they need to wait for parts. There aren't even any parts involved in the recall for 99% of people. Those that do need a new gasket, it hasn't even been redesigned, it's the same part as it always has been I don't see how it is something that needs to be waited for.

I agree. I think like with everything it depends on the dealer. My dealer just did it without me asking while I had the car in the shop.

you will need a loaner car because it will take them at least a full day. I dropped mine iff (when I still had it) and picked it up the next evening

Guys just call the dealership you bought it from and schedule an appointment. I called them on friday and made an appointment for wednesday. When I got there they told me it would take about 1.5hrs, but it only took about an hour and there were like 20 people in the waiting area. Im still salty about that free gas lol

It would only take a full day if they take the car and don't even have it looked at all day. If you were to schedule it in and tell them you want to wait for it, I don't see how they wouldn't be able to accommodate that.

I waited for the master cylinder recall it only took a couple of hours and that one was more complex. I just filled up on the dealership treats, I didn't see any reason to go through the whole loaner process just to have to go back again later.
