I think the leather is the same, just looks different because everything is black in my car. I can do everything but the wheel. Not confident with the airbag and taking a chance. I think the best thing with the wheel is to have someone, professional, take it off and just send it out. Sewell, one of our vendors, is offering this service. Maybe we both get a deal for sending them in. This way there is no issues with leather matching. You can have anything done at this point.

The rest of the trim I can take out and swap with. Just let me know if you want to do this. I can do this in a heated garage in Chicago (Elmwood Park) in the next 2 weeks depending on your schedule.

I am certain. The steering wheel matches the upper dash. There are only 2 upper dashes - the one that is almost black, and the one that is quicksilver (i.e. sandy gray).

This is the gray interior from Lexus website

As you can see the sandy gray one is very different color to the one in your shot. The gray is much lighter than your wood. Whereas in your car the leather is darker than your wood.

The reason your wheel looks more gray in your photo is because your white balance is off. The photos I posted were taken without a flash.

Oh and the interior of my car looks amazing doesn't it?

I see that now on the Lexus website, if you go to the GS, then to colors, and toggle through, the steering wheel never changes.

Actually that part of the website is misleading. It is a simulation. Look at the actual photos. The cashmere car does have a gray steering wheel. The gray and black interiors have a black steering wheel.

If you look at your gray interior, don't you see the volume buttons on the steering wheel are black? On my car the volume buttons are gray.

Black and gray have black steering wheel leather, Cashmere has gray steering wheel.

I'll take your word on that.

Rominl, I saw on one of your old posts that you said the steering wheel is a quick job, 5 minutes for the air bag, and 5 minutes for everything else. Are there any instructions out there? I've taken plenty of dashes and what not appart, but I'd feel better with a how-to.

only way to be sure is to go to the stealer and compare the 2 colors to see if they're a match

Check again. I definitely see the same three wood colors in the GS11 Gallery on the Lexus website.

Is the first pair of pictures you posted of your car's interior? The reason I ask is because that isn't an '07. The shifter plate and steering wheel are different and the trim is dark gray, not black. Looks like an '08.

I have the black wood interior ('07). They actually dropped the black and went to a lighter color ... "dark gray" starting in '08. They also went from a round to slightly oval shape steering wheel in '08. I actually like the black even though you can only see the woodgrain in bright light. I'm guessing thats why they lightened it.

umm, can't even remember where/when i wrote that technically i haven't worked on 3gs wheel before, but i have swapped / taken out airbags and steering wheel on 2gs and sc430, and both very straight forward. some caps in the back, unscrew, and pop the airbag. and then use the tool and "pull" out the steering wheel

Yes 06 & 07 are the same interior. This is why I know it will work and its a direct swap with our cars. I can have someone at the dealer swap our wheels. If you search SEWELL on youtube Darrel does a Wheel swap on an IS and Im sure its the same.
