Hypothetical question (maybe)?

If you discover paint work on a rear quarter panel of a used 2006 GS 300 that was sold for $26,000... how much would this discovery lower the value of the car?

Typically 10%. More if there was a lot of bodywork.

I would say more in the area of 20%. It hard to tell with out seeing the car but must people check this area first for body work on any car that is getting sold at least I do

I agree with this if there is a large insurance claim associated with it. But if its a simple case of someone's car getting keyed so they repainted it (no bodywork) that would only be 10%.

The fact that people check is why the hit to value is so big. A lot of people won't buy a car that has been repaired, so you only get the bargain hunters.
