Default 2007 GS350 trunk liner issue

Hi all, I am a 07 owner and have had a small problem with the trunk liner starting to peel/separate from the rubber it is attached to on the top of the trunk. I took it in about a yr ago and the service adviser said the carpet is sliding downwards and they pulled it up but it is starting to come off again. Is anyone else having the same problem? Is there a more permanent fix? thanks

Yep mine is like that too, and from what I've seen, there are many others that have the same problem.

The trunk liner which cover up the facotry sub is coming lose. This happen in my g35 also I just took the entire thing out and made a fiberglass trim panel that fit and carpeted over it.

I don't know what is going on here, but maybe some 3M spray adhesive would do the job?

Oh that, yes, mine hangs a bit loose in the center as well.

It is stapled to two white plastic clips there. The staples on mine came out and I don't have a construction stapler to re-affix it. I don't think any amount of adhesive would be able to hold it. I tried using hard core velcro strips and that didn't do it. Eventually I just gave up and chose to ignore it.

The problem is that once it gets disconnected and sags for a while, the whole thing loses it's shape and gets warped and wants to remain in that slightly sagged shape.

ok so i remember correctly, it's held in by staples. so for those who have falling lining, your clips fell off? did you take it apart for sub or anything?

thanks for the replies, i have attached a pic to help illustrate. there have been no upgrades in the trunk of my car, so i think it may be another design flaw. if this is the extend of the problem i can live with, but i am pretty concerned about the top lining possibly sagging in the future when the car is out of warranty.

i have an appt next week with the dealer to have a look at, hopefully they'll have a more permanent fix.

The upper trunk liner is held in place w/ just a few clips, claws and a plastic nut. As such, it can easily slide a bit. Just give it a tug to pull it back towards the rear and then tuck the edge back under the gasket. It'll be fine. If so desired, you could throw some velcro on the back of it in a few spots to secure it better especially on the leading edge at the trunk seal but this shouldn't be of any great concern.

Good luck
