Ok today I called 3 different dealerships and got the same answer. They all state that yes the sunroof is suppose to have water come in around the rubber seal. They also state that as long as the carpet is not wet theres nothing wrong. Dosent seem right to me but 4 separate dealerships are telling me the samething. With that being said the next time anyone on here goes through a carwash do me a favor. Pull the shade back run your finger across the seal and let me know if you feel water. Also so on another note my friend suggested that i just put some silicone around the edge. Would that hurt the seal? I will be buyin the extended warranty in 2 weeks and I dont want any crap down the road.

household silicone?
nah. that would turn out nasty.
i've never done it, but maybe you can try sticking a wire down the drain and see if it comes out the other end.

No i was thinking like fish tank silicone. I just need it to hold up a 6 months to a year. Im def getting rid of the car unless someone else says its normal. And maybe im not explaining the leak correctly. The rubber seal around the glass drips water. But the cars not wet from the drip. The cars wet from the a/c clog. The drains in the roof are working perfectly. I think ill take video when I get the car back and see if I get anymore replies.

Just a guess here, but nothing else has made sense. No doubt there is a rubber tube that runs down inside the "A" pillar to drain the water that collects in the channel around the sunroof. I'm guessing that the tube connects to the same tube that is there to drain condensation from the A/C. If it gets clogged, it backs up both tubes.
The next logical question is are you getting condensation on the carpet from the A/C? Next question, why does it cost so much to unclog the tube? It must be really hard to get to. Those are the things I'd want to understand from the dealer.

It was 1100 to remove the carpet and replace the pads. 200 to clear the clogged drain. From my understanding they have to go behind the nav screen to unclog the drain. In the end the carpet and padding are being replaced for free and its going to cost me 200 for the drain. Labor is what always gets you in the end. Clogged drains are considered poor maintenance so thats why i have to pay for it. Leaves and debris cause the clog. 200 bucks isnt bad considering what I almost had to pay. Speaking of poor maintenace there was a lady complaining that car wasnt running correctly at the dealership. It had 35000 miles on it she bought it new and wanted to know why it was running like crap. She hadnt changed the oil from day one rotated or replaced the tires!

ask the dealer if it still leaks after all this ...then what??? Also is there anything in your owners manual under maintenance about unclogging the a/c drain on a certain schedule? If not, how can it be poor maintenance?

I was told that not keeping the area between the windsheild and hood clear of debris thats considered poor maintenance. I just bought the car so I cant really say how clean the previous owner kept the car. I do know that theres 21 service records and that he did every service that was due.

Also I did a search and this is a common problem on lexus. I was also told that if you park your car in the summer with the a/c on and theres no water dripping thats a sure sign that you have a clogged drain.

The revised TSB involves less labor work than the original TSB.
