For South Bay Lexus, don't bother with the normal sales people.

Talk to Gloria Rincon. (I believe she's still there) She's in the Internet Sales/Fleet Dept. I've dealt with her and so have many other people across the my.IS forums. Joe-Z bought his car with her too and he highly recommends her! She goes above and beyond!

$37,000?? They Are On Crack. Two and half years ago, I paid $35,000 for an awd, ML/NAV showroom condition 2006 GS 300. Run don't walk, they are not being realistic.

Thats a sweet color combo with the black interior. Pretty rare here in florida they all seem to have the beige Int. Love the black Interior.

well, if that car doesn't have ML, that's a rip off.

I assumed it did. with ML, it would have been $52k new. Without ML, it would have been around $49k new.

they didn't even bother to negotiate. What turds. haha

should've just said "gtf outta here. you crazy. what makes you think this car is worth $34k ?"

let it sit on their lot. it will just keep losing money.

I assume you test drove the car?

if so, now you can just do negotiations over the phone.

and tell em that the longer that car sits on their lot, the more value it's gonna lose. So you're doing them a favor taking it off their hands.
also tell em that no one advertises their lowest no haggle prices on the internet. There's always room to negotiate, and they didn't even bother to negotiate.

Back when that car was new and had an MSRP of $49k, in california you could easily knock off 12%, making that $43k + TTL.
Now that it's 3 years old, that thing should at most be worth only $23k-26k + TTL.

tell them to be realistic. 32k OTD is more than reasonable.

Damn only 7% tax? Where do you live?

Yea, 37K OTD seems a little steep... But that car is not going to sit there long and will eventually sell because the color combo of that car is so rare.

I was also looking for a white with black int combo... And was actually searching for about 2 months before I finally found it. Well, I actually end up getting a white with grey interior combo but I got a very good deal on it that I couldn't pass up. It's also a 2008 GS350 with only 28k miles.

Damn there trippin, you should probably just around for other cars and still check up with this one cause it seems there not gonna budge on the pricing, probably cause there losing money and need to make as much money back!, Best bet do a search your bound to find another GS with ML at that!

WOW ok, emailed the internet sales and here was their response.

Hey Duke,

Thanks for your quick reply. I did research and also spoke with various members on the lexus forums regarding south bay, price, and their personal purchases. I did see the minor cosmetic dents it had on the pillars and scratches on the passenger door sills. The leather seats seem to start to crack. Also the bottom of the front bumper was pretty scratched up; the sales consultant scrapped it pretty bad too reversing from the display spot.

I have an offer of 32,000 OTD. Honestly if you accept this offer I can guarantee to take the car off the lot.

With this kind of response, they will sell it to you. Talk to either the internet sale manager or his/her manager.

Stick to your number. Good luck.

spoke with the fleet manager. 33,900 OTD/Certified is what they are letting to let it go at. What do you all think?

they want you to do some back/forth negotiating.
Obviously that is not their lowest price. and "certified" is a joke, so don't let that bump up the price.
They won't give it to you off the bat like that.

don't budge.

if they resist after 2 more offers, maybe you can bump to $32500 OTD "final offer, and i'll give you 1 day to think about it before I buy my car elsewhere".... which is MORE than fair

Give them a piece of logic, and don't budge on price yet.
Like i said above:
Back when that car was new and had an MSRP of $49k, in southern california you could easily knock off 12%, making that $43k + TTL.
Now that it's 3 years old, that thing should at most be worth only $23k-26k + TTL.
Also, make note, back in 2008, there was a HUGE factory-to-dealer promotion, giving dealers tons of pocket money.

If I were you, I'd remind them that it is a 3 year old car with only ~52% residual value, and that 12% discounts were easy to get when NEW. "so you do the math."

And if this is an off-lease return (which it sounds like it is), they already got $600/month for 3 years. So with absurd fuzzy math, we're looking at $43333- ($600x36) = $21700 value left.

conclusion: $32000 OTD is more than reasonable.
