Like everyone is saying stick to you price and don't let up, always rememeber that a dealership can lose soe money and the bank will basically reimburse them so stick to that price dont let up they want to try to make money, thats there goal.

Default GS 350 Purchase

Stated above that car was about $52,000 new. That is way off. It was only based at about 45,900 new in 2008 and the car has no options that do not come standard with that year. I have a 2010 AWD that list for 47,900 and I have $4000 in additional options and that made the car $52,000 and I paid $47,000. The most that car should be worth would be $29,000. It is the base model 2008 with nothing but standard equipment. If they want to move the car they should meet the price I stated above. Also, I do not know "who would want any AWD". I have one and it is definitely a plus and the car has been totally trouble free. I would agree if you want to lower the car and put some unusual size wheels on it then that does present a problem for an AWD.

OP is in california. AWD is irrelevant.

car in question has more than standard equipment. It has NAV option, and a few other popular california packages.

in any case, seeing the prices other people are able to get for the more expensive AWD version, this dealer's price is way too high.

Given that the demand for this car is way way low compared to german counterparts, this car should be an easy buy if the dealer would get its head out of its ***.

bumping to figure out what ever happened with OP.

this thread has good info for those in the market now.

in light of the disasters in japan, do you feel that prices then (feb 2011) and now (may 2011) should change much? i feel like dealers have marked up their prices due to psychological demand, but not necessarily real demand.
