Hey - glad to meet a fellow 2006 GS430 owner. I've think this forum has a wealth of information, I've have been reading it for several months now, saw your thread so I thought I would chime in. I too have labored on the harsh ride of the GS430, and after the horrible Yokohamas wore out, I purchased the Bridgestone Turanza Serenitys. I wish I had done it sooner, even the dashboard is quieter now since it's not being jarred all the time. I finally have a smooth ride.
I do have a concern, as you, about the extended warranty running out, I'm at 85,000 miles. I read about the air conditioning HVAC evaporator drain eventually getting blocked with debris. The result, the water then backs up and drains out onto the carpet (r/f and r/r passenger side) causing mold under the carpet. The fix if very costly, upward $3500, so I've read. This happens with the 2006-2007 GS's, TSIB AC003-07. This has not happened to my car yet. Still, I'm wondering what are the common factors that cause this problem, i.e., GS's in very humid states such as Florida, where A/C is ran all the time. (One thread identified the owner to from Florida) The big sign of trouble is when there is no puddle of water under your car after A/C has been on for a while. Hard to tell during these cold months, so I'll have to wait until spring.
Make sure the Lexus dealership performed the following Campaign's: 1) rack and pinion steering and 2) rear brake caliber.
I think my next ride will be the LS, most likely the new model (2014), but definitely not the first year release.
