Default powder coating vs painting

since my car is in the shop i was thinkin re-paint my wheels again. i painted my wheels few years ago from chrome and still look great but there are few areas are dirty due to the dust(not peelin yet),,,but, i heard paint is gonna peel down the road anyway so wanted to powder coat them but coater told me he could never match the 3 stage white pearl color,,,what do u guys think,,,

umm. You want to match the pearl white paint to your wheels? Why?

Paint, powder coat...all the same so long as you have clearcoat.

id prefer powder coating over painting since its bonded to the metal and much strong (ie wont crack and flake as easy) but then again there are limitations to it and i think if your trying to make your pearl paint, its best to have them painted. even different batches of the same pearl paint can lead to paint deviations. if your car is already in the shop getting paint work done, get them to add enough paint to do the wheels. this will ensure that the paint from the car will match the paint on the wheels.
