Well, they finished my car up 25 days after the event. They ended up replacing the entire short block and 1 engine head. Service adviser assures me this is the only 2nd engine he has ever seen replaced in 7 years.

Good: New short block and 1 head, free oil change, fresh coolant/refrigerant for A/C, had a HS250 for a loaner, and it was covered under warranty.

Gripes: Got the car back with 1/2 a tank and they didn't wash it

I'm going to go ahead and purchase the 5yr extended warranty now.

Anybody know what cost would have been with labor without warranty? I'm guessing the 6k range?

It seems to be a freak accident. I wouldn't buy one out of warranty though.

only replacing one head seems odd. Seems like at 90% replacement, they'd go ahead and do everything.
