Exclamation 2007 GS350 Problem

every morning i start my car. I will hear some weird noise from the engine, sound like the window lose, even when i turn off the car for couple hours and turn it back on i still hear the same noise, are there anyone know what is the problem. This morning i asked the Longo Lexus, are they gonna charge for check up since my engine has some weird noise, and they told me it gonna cost $45 just for check up the engine. I thought engine noise still cover under powertrain.

yes. engine complaints should be covered under your powertrain warranty.

since the noise coincides with the engine startup, tell them to shove it. you shouldn't get charged. or at the very least, they are supposed to reimburse you if they find something wrong.

is your problem at EVERY startup?

tell em you're not paying. and tell them about the TSB, which is covered under powertrain.

how long do you hold the start up button, you will get this type of noise from the starter of you hold the start up button for too long (more than a split second)

I'm not sure what a "loose window" sounds like, you didn't do a very good job describing the sound. Engine sounds at startup can be a few things, from the clatter that was linked to, but another usual suspect for engine noises at startup in cars is the belt tensioner.

You're not talking about the tick-tick-tick sound are you? If you are, that's normal. Thank goodness I can't hear it in my car or I would go nuts.
