My New Exhaust! That Ebay one you've all been eyeing! :)
Hey guys, I just had my new exhaust installed. I purchased it from a seller on ebay in Dallas. It arrived looking awesome and shiny. I took it to the Pro Muffler shop yesterday to have it installed and everyone there was in aww of it's looks and quality. They said the material, welding, and design were all top quality (I hope they arn't wrong). Anyhow, the install was bolt on and very easy (took 15 minutes). It came with all the seals and gaskets.
The sound is very close to a M35 exhaust note. It is loud enough to know it's there and then some, but not so loud that people will think it's too aftermarket.
I would highly recommend this product if you guys are looking for a sub $400 exhaust system that sounds great and looks awesome!
The auction #: 230487263278

There are a lot of exhausts which sound much worse. (louder)

I have not dynoed the car but I suspect the gains from this, or any aftermarket exhaust, to be minimal. I honestly feel the tips are exactly the right size for this car (its not a diesel truck afterall). I do wish it was slightly quieter inside when in the mid rpm ranges. I suspect this is the case with any aftermarket system you install.
I'm one of those people who believe the Lexus engineers probably knew what they're doing when trying to squeeze power out of this engine. Exhaust, intake, and other minor engine performance mods do more for peoples egos than for real performance numbers. That being said, I suppose I have gained some single digit HP increases if I'm lucky. There's only so much back pressure you can free up before you start negatively effecting performance.
